Maths Hub

The Maths Hubs Programme, coordinated by the NCETM (The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics ) brings together mathematics education professionals in a collaborative national network of 40 hubs, each locally led by an outstanding school or college.

Maths Hub harness all the maths leadership and expertise within an area, to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all pupils and students. They are part of the wider development of school-led system leadership in England.
The Yorkshire Ridings Maths Hub, covering North Yorkshire, York and the East Riding is led by Harrogate Grammar School. Lead Schools are selected through a process run by the Department for Education (DfE) and the NCETM. The selection process identifies schools that demonstrate the credibility, capacity and commitment to lead a Maths Hub.
A hub’s work takes many forms and includes face-to-face CPD and online support. Every hub runs a large range projects each year which enable teachers and teaching assistants to work collaboratively with the support of local leaders of maths education (LLMEs).
Teaching for mastery enabling pupils to develop a deep and sustained understanding of mathematics is at the heart of our work.
It is a great privilege to be a Lead School in the Maths Hubs Programme; and the responsibility we have taken for this is already leading to significant developments taking place in a range of partner schools.
