Arbor Parent Portal and the Arbor App

The new Parent Portal and Arbor App allows us to consolidate the way we keep in touch with you and give you quick and comprehensive access to your child’s activities and daily life at school.

Both will allow you to access (click on each heading for more information):

• Attendance records
• Assignments (Homework) allocated including due dates
• Behaviour information – points awarded, any negative incidents or detentions allocated. Click through to find further information about our Positive Achievement system
• Contact details - these can easily be updated within the app by clicking on your child's face at the top of the screen
• Progress grades/half termly reports 
• Trips - how to consent and make a payment
• Extra-curricular Clubs - how to consent 
• Timetable - students can access timetable information by signing in on their own portal on their iPads

Logging in for the first time

For new students starting at HGS, we will send you a welcome email which contains a link to the Arbor Parent Portal.  Use this link to set up your password.

Once you have logged in via the Arbor Parent Portal, you will be able to download the Arbor App and access the above information.

If you have younger children in any of our Red Kite Learning Trust primary schools, you may already have an Arbor account. In this case, we recommend you log in through a web browser initially to enable you to link your children’s accounts.

Showbie

Students are able to access Showbie as a website through a PC or an app on their iPad. Teachers can share resources for lessons and Home Learning through ‘classes’ they create on Showbie. Work can be completed by students directly onto a shared document using their iPad or documents can be uploaded from a PC. Teachers have the option of marking and providing either written or verbal feedback on submitted work using the Showbie app. Students can also add comments to Showbie, responding to their teacher feedback or after self-reflection on work. All documents and comments made by students and teachers are displayed chronologically in folders created by teachers within their ‘classes’.

Parents do not have independent access to Showbie, but are encouraged to view relevant sections with their child when supporting work at home.

Parent access only, a link code will be emailed by HGS Finance.
