Youth Support Services*
Once students reach the age of 13 it is necessary for us to pass certain information to our local authority to enable them to fulfil their statutory function in relation to supporting young people’s participation in education and training, and to identify and support those who need help to re-engage or to find work. For more information about services for young people please go to our local authority website: North Yorkshire County Council - Support for children, young people and their families.
Under Section 72 of the Education and Skills Act 2008, we have a statutory duty to provide the following information:
- the name, address and date of birth of the student.
- the name and address of a parent of the student.
In addition, we ask for your consent to share wider information about your child that may be helpful to the Youth Support Services in fulfilling their duty to support them. This right is transferred to the child / student once they reach the age 16.
You have the right to change your mind at any point.
