Photographic/Video consent and use of imagery
We are seeking permission for your child to have their photograph and/or a video taken during their time at Harrogate Grammar School. There are a number of instances where the school may take photographs/videos both named and unnamed, please click on the following document to see the criteria in full - photographic/video consent, brief examples are below:
- Internal use only - primarily Educational use for e.g. a classroom activity/demonstration, wall display.
- External use - primarily Marketing & Publicity use for e.g. social media, websites, prospectus, local media where an event or achievement is to be showcased for e.g. school trips, sports fixtures, personal accolades, drama productions etc.

Youth Support Services*
Once students reach the age of 13 it is necessary for us to pass certain information to our local authority to enable them to fulfil their statutory function in relation to supporting young people’s participation in education and training, and to identify and support those who need help to re-engage or to find work. Under Section 72 of the Education and Skills Act 2008, we have a statutory duty to provide the following information:
- the name, address and date of birth of the student.
- the name and address of a parent of the student.
In addition, we ask for your consent to share wider information about your child that may be helpful to the Youth Support Services in fulfilling their duty to support them. This right is transferred to the child / student once they reach the age 16.
