The Sixth Form
The Career Pathways Talks are a key element of our Progression Programme, providing students with valuable insights into a wide range of career specialisms. Through keynote presentations delivered by industry experts, students gain a deeper understanding of professional pathways, emerging opportunities and the skills required for future success. Many pathways also offer access to work experience opportunities, helping students make informed decisions about their next steps.
Supported by leading local and national organisations, alongside Harrogate Grammar School alumni, the programme draws on a wealth of professional expertise to bring the world of work to life. Students benefit from hearing first-hand experiences and advice from individuals working at the forefront of their industries.
Students attend Career Pathways Talks at three points throughout the academic year, in November, January and April. In 2025/26, more than 45 speakers contributed to the programme, representing sectors including Business and Finance, Medicine and Healthcare, STEM, Creative Industries, Sport and Law. These events provide an invaluable opportunity for students to explore future career options, develop professional awareness and be inspired by successful professionals from a diverse range of fields.
