Student support

Sixth Form students benefit from a strong and well-established system of support which helps to guide and shape your experience, and which sets you up for the future.

This team includes a dedicated reception, administration and attendance team for the Sixth Form, a Student Support Team, a Learning Mentor, Careers Advisers, a Senior Tutor, and Form Tutors.

Pastoral & wellbeing support

We believe that when students are happy in their environment and enjoying the academic and social aspects of school, it gives them the best chance of succeeding in their learning. Our Sixth Form is rooted in the value of respect, where every individual is treated with kindness and care. This supportive culture helps everyone to feel a valued member of the community, confident to take part in the wide range of opportunities on offer, make new friends, and embrace community events in the Sixth Form. Alongside the extra-curricular activities, societies and service, students take part in a range of activities in our half-termly Wellbeing Weeks and charity fundraising events.

The Sixth Form also has a large and experienced team of staff to support students including a Post-16 designated Safeguarding Lead. You will be placed into a form group with a dedicated form tutor who will see you every day. In addition, there are two Student Support Managers who work full time in the Sixth Form to support students with wellbeing and barriers to learning. A Post-16 Learning Mentor works with students with specific learning needs to support their transition into Sixth Form and throughout.

We understand that sometimes students need a bit of extra support. We have a number of staff who are mental health first aid trained, and have strong links with specialist outside agencies that we can refer students on to if you need additional support.
