Who are we?

We are a dedicated group of parents and teachers who organize social and fund raising events throughout the year to support and enhance opportunities for our children in many different ways. Last year the PTA raised over £18,000 which helped to provide equipment, facilities and experiences that would otherwise just not be available within the school budget. The school really needs and appreciates the support of a strong and vibrant PTA.

It’s not all about fundraising though. Being part of the PTA is about taking an active part in the school community. Parents and teachers working together in partnership are an important and fulfilling aspect of school life and one that really does contribute to the vibrancy and success of Harrogate Grammar School.

Being an active member of the PTA is a great way to get to know the school, how it works, the different departments and their needs and priorities. Also to get involved in events and get to know other parents and members of staff who all work together towards a common aim – to enhance opportunities for our children.

We have PTA committees that work closely with the Music and PE Departments to support the very strong music and sporting tradition of the school. Equally, departments such as Learning Support, Maths, History, English, Drama, Design & Technology and the Learning Resource Centre have all benefitted from PTA donations over the years.
