Our largest ever cohort of Year 13 students at Harrogate Grammar school are celebrating an excellent set of A Level & BTEC results today. These results continue the impressive performance of HGS Sixth Formers in recent years and provides a springboard for an extremely wide range of higher education, apprenticeship and employment opportunities.
After a rigorous selection process including written applications, formal interviews, hustings and presentations, we are delighted to announce the appointment of our Head Students and Deputies for 2018-19.
Two of our students have had recent cause to celebrate. Sisters, Eve Whitaker (Year 8) and Alexis Whitaker (Year 9) took part in the English Fell Running Championship, consisting of a series of six races over the Spring and Summer.
Two years ago as an U15, student Achele Agada had never played rugby before. She was eventually encouraged to give it a go, and as a result she played in two full contact tournaments that season. Achele was quickly identified as a player with potential.
Five Harrogate Grammar School Sixth Form students have successfully gained places on Hull York Medical School (HYMS)’s Summer Residential Programme; one of only two Sutton Trust Medicine programmes in the UK and the only one outside of London.
