Open Evenings for year 7 entry in 2020

Open Evenings (parents and students)

Tuesday 1 October and Wednesday 2 October at 6.30pm

The evening will begin at 6:30pm with a presentation from the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher whilst your children are looked after separately by Senior Staff as well as some of our Year 7 students. Staff will answer questions about what your child wants to know about our school.

At about 7.00pm, parents and children will be reunited and you will be issued with a copy of our Prospectus. You and your child will then be welcome to tour the building, talk to staff and students and also look at various displays of work in a range of subjects. Refreshments will be available in the dining room throughout the evening, courtesy of our very active Parent-Teacher Association. We expect the occasion to be finished by 8.30pm.

We have additional parking available adjacent to the Sixth Form building. However, to avoid congestion if you are able to walk, this would be appreciated.

Given the importance of the decision facing you, we do hope that you will accept our invitation to join us. Exactly the same programme is arranged for both evenings the only purpose of allocating Primary Schools to one or other evening is to accommodate the large number of parents and children who wish to attend. If you cannot manage to attend on your allocated evening you will of course be welcome at the alternative evening (please see below).

Representatives of the North Yorkshire Area Education Office, who coordinate admissions on our behalf, will be present on both evenings of October 1st and 2nd. We do hope that by inviting you to our Prospective Parents’ open events we will help you to make an informed decision about the right school to entrust with the secondary education of your child. We look forward to meeting you in September and October.

Please note – please see below to find out your Primary school’s allocated evening and entrance.
