After a rigorous selection process including written applications, formal interviews, hustings and presentations, we are delighted to announce the appointment of our Head Students and Deputies for 2018-19.
Two of our students have had recent cause to celebrate. Sisters, Eve Whitaker (Year 8) and Alexis Whitaker (Year 9) took part in the English Fell Running Championship, consisting of a series of six races over the Spring and Summer.
Two years ago as an U15, student Achele Agada had never played rugby before. She was eventually encouraged to give it a go, and as a result she played in two full contact tournaments that season. Achele was quickly identified as a player with potential.
Five Harrogate Grammar School Sixth Form students have successfully gained places on Hull York Medical School (HYMS)’s Summer Residential Programme; one of only two Sutton Trust Medicine programmes in the UK and the only one outside of London.
Earlier this year one of our teachers, Stephen Woollard, was selected as the winner of a nationwide competition hosted by e-textbook and e-learning provider, ITSI. The prize for the competition included an all-expenses-paid trip of a lifetime to South Africa.
