Annual Careers Fair

Harrogate Grammar School invites students and parents from all year groups to attend the annual Careers Fair on Thursday 13th  November from 7-8.30pm in the Sixth Form. This is the fourth annual Careers Evening we have held as part of our careers education programme and it is open to students in years 7 – 13 together with their parents. The aims of the evening are:

  • to raise students’ awareness of a wide range of career and educational opportunities
  • to provide access to people working directly in a variety of sectors who are able to offer advice and guidance
  • to help students make informed decisions about their future by encouraging them to seek out information regarding courses and career paths which interest them
  • to help students begin to prepare for a chosen career path as early as possible and begin to build up relevant skills and experience

This year we have 60 organisations attending from a range of backgrounds who are willing to talk about their jobs and experiences from Labour Market Sectors include Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Business, Finance, Legal, Creative, Digital, Media, Leisure, Tourism, Public Services, Retail, Transport, Logistics, Further and Higher Education, Gap Years, Science, Health & Social Care.

This promises to be a very popular evening providing students with a wealth of information and advice, in previous years more than 600 people have attended. We very much looking forward to seeing you there.
